CBA Alberta My Justice Skills Working Group Collaboration

CBA Alberta My Justice Skills Working Group Collaboration

Project Summary

Student volunteers would be asked to research and develop or update legal information slide decks to be delivered to high school students during a 45-minute class period. Volunteer students will develop slide decks include legal information sessions on Business Law; Identity Theft; Sexual Exploitation, Sexting, and Social Media; and Property.

Students will present legal information sessions with the support of a practicing lawyer and CBA member. Volunteer students will be provided by CBA with a list of scheduled presentations in the fall for the volunteers to accommodate within their schedules. Presentations will take place virtually until volunteers can be in person in compliance with Alberta Health Guidelines, University of Calgary standards, and policies of the host-schools. Some presentations may continue virtually after that point, though we anticipate most Calgary schools shifting to in-person presentations.
